Let's Talk Knock-Knock Jokes And Email Marketing
THE WHY BEHIND EMAIL MARKETING
So what does that really mean for you? It means on average, for every dollar you spend you can expect to earn $42. A recent example from one of our clients who is a non-profit, sent out an email campaign to 1600 email subscribers. This email marketing campaign had 490 opens and 51 click throughs to their website! On just one campaign ~ which resulted in 43 conversions! Truly fabulous results!
Frequently sent and personalized emails help keep you top of mind with your customers. Email marketing increases client retention and loyalty. Regardless of your industry, your clients enjoy receiving personalized emails that describe services, have promotional offers and interesting or educational information that is clearly and easily consumed.
Sending weekly emails is the sweet spot for most people surveyed by MarketingSherpa and it sounds just about right to us too. It gives your clients the opportunity to open and read your emails at their convenience and keeps your small business ahead of the competition.
HERE’S THE “HOW TO” ON EFFECTIVE EMAIL CAMPAIGNS
Find the right email marketing platform. There are many email marketing tools and some of them have free plans available. We often recommend Mailchimp for many of our small business clients and it has basic functionality and automation, so that when someone does sign up for your email list you can have an automated email that goes out to welcome them to your business.
Subject lines matter! One of the most important aspects of your email is the first thing your viewer sees: the subject line. Your subject line can be personalized with the viewers name, an emoji or something catchy. Keep the subject line between 45 - 55 characters and try not to over do the use of CAPS.
Include a CTA. A strong and well written call to action tells your readers what you want them to do and convinces people to take action.
Great design, copywriting & humor increases the value & open rate of your marketing campaign. Don’t waste your viewers’ time with poorly designed email campaigns. Take the time to design a campaign that will encourage people to open future emails. This includes branded content, colors and fonts, content that is well written without grammatical errors and typos. Don’t be afraid to try a little humor, because for goodness sake ~ who doesn’t like to laugh?
